Thoughts on Transformation, from our Minister
During October, we have been learning about transformation in our Sunday lessons.
Transformation in the context we are describing it, is about moving from one state of consciousness to a new one, one that is healthier and one that brings us closer to Spirit. Of course, we are always in a continuous transformation, physically, emotionally and spiritually. What we want is to become more aware of our transformation, to wake up, and to recognize Spirit working in and through us in a continuous process of our transformation.
In reality, we have two things going on simultaneously, which can work together for our good. One is the actual transformation itself, and the other is our awareness of the transformation. The more aware we are of our transformation, the more likely we are to have a smooth and meaningful transformation. One way to increase our awareness is to have a daily meditation practice. When we spend time in the silence, we are benefiting in many ways , first by allowing the consciousness of Spirit to flow in and through our consciousness, and second, by slowing your thoughts and bodily functions, so that healing and light can enter your being.
I am sure you are like me; I want to grow and to be a beacon of light for others to see. We can carry the light within us, and let it shine, but we can’t make others see the light, until they are ready. Transformation is also about being the light, without trying to be someone we are not, or trying to influence others on their path. Unity is different than other denominations in that regard. We simply stand in our awareness of the truth and let our lights shine. Transformation is not something we can control in ourselves or in others. Only Spirit knows the all, and we are in this schoolroom here on Mother Earth to learn our part and to play our part in the greater transformation of our planet’s consciousness. Make sure you have fun in the process, and take time at recess to laugh and play.
